02.29.08: ‘Indy 4′ Will Premiere at Cannes, New ‘Iron Man’ Trailer Unveiled

The fourth instalment of Lucas and Spielberg’s action-adventure franchise, Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull, looks set to debut at the Cannes Film Festival on May 18, four days before it hits cinemas around the world. Although Cannes has yet to confirm its official line-up, Paramount is confident the festival will be gagging to get Harrison Ford and co. waltzing down their red carpet after they see the film. So Long New Line…
The studio behind The Lord Of The Rings trilogy and the Austin Powers franchise has been subsumed into the fold of its studio owners Warner Bros, where it will exist as a niche genre label. It’s a big fall from the heady days of Rings’ billion-dollar bonanza, but the failure of The Golden Compass – at least domestically; it fared well overseas where New Line had flogged the rights – hastened its demise. It will now return to its roots as a genre producer of low-budget horror, comedy and urban films. More at Variety
