Short Takes: Warner Bros. Orders WWII Epic in 3-D; Could Darren Aronofsky Direct ‘Wolverine 2′?

Warner Bros. to Fast Track 3-D WWII Epic

Now this is a way to bring inspiration back to the already tiresome 3-D medium. Bruce C. McKenna, producer and writer of the HBO Miniseries The Pacific, has sold a pitch to Warner Bros. for a 3-D movie titled The Battle of Midway, covering the watershed battle that turned the tides of World War II. McKenna is expected to turn in a script in the next couple months. [Deadline]

Shark Night 3-D Casts Its Unassuming Swimmers

Here's a way to make that same medium tiresome again. David Ellis, who helmed Snakes on a Plane and two Final Destinations, has assembled his core cast for a 3-D tale of violent, ravenous sharks in the Louisiana Gulf. Filming is set to begin in September. [THR]

Director Competition Heats Up for Wolverine 2

The director sweepstakes for the follow-up to X-Men Origins: Wolverine has gained some serious traction and intrigue factor, as the competition has reportedly been narrowed down to two names: David Slade and Darren Aronofsky. It goes without saying how unprecedented it would be to put a prestige arthouse director like Aronofsky in charge of a comic book franchise. And that's what makes this exciting. [Comic Vine]

LAMB Chops: August 31st

Much like the Bloody Chops, I had to whittle it down to five. If yours wasn't pick, I'm sorry. Keep trying!

If YOU would like to participate, all you need is:
Eyes
The ability to read other people's blogs
To be a member of the LAMB, or about to be a member
Copy and paste skills
A #2 pencil
And three hard boiled eggs.

I'm gonna suggest, nay, recommend that you send in a chop FROM SOMEONE ELSES BLOG (who is also a LAMB). We need people sending in other people's stuff instead of your own so this can be more of a forum of "hey this person wrote a great piece" instead of self pimpage. There's nothing wrong with self pimpage (I'm guilty of it myself) but we kinda wanna take this LAMB Chops, AND Bloody Chops, into the future. So let's see how that goes. Here's what you need to do:

Using the following format, email me at weeklylambchops@gmail.com the chop you think is great:

And let's try the same for the Bloody Chops as well. You can send those to bloodychops@gmail.com.

Have the LAMB Chops sent in by midnight next Monday night, EST.
Have the Bloody Chops sent in by midnight THIS Friday night, EST.

As always if you are confused (I dunno why but whatever), feel free to leave a comment saying "I'm confused!" and me or Fletch will unconfuse you.

Thank you. I'm on a horse.

LAMB #686 - Sir Jorge’s Blog X

URL: http://sirjorge.com/blogx
Site Name: Sir Jorge's Blog X
Categories: Reviews, General, Editorials
Rating: PG-13

What is the main focus of your site?
The main focus of the site is media reviews. Movies, music, and skateboarding. A large part of the site is for movie reviews, as I have a lot of time on my hands and post up reviews of film and more.

What are your blogging goals, personally and/or professionally? In other words, what, if anything, are you trying to get out your blog?
I've been blogging for a long time and my only goal is to keep thoughts in my head on paper, in case I forget them. I also have few friends, so I post all I have on the canvas of blogging and maybe, just maybe it'll connect and someone will find something new to explore.

Do you prefer an interactive community for your blog or are you the teacher and your readers the students?
I would prefer an interactive community for my blog, but it usually turns out to be a teacher and student type thing, that is if I even have readers.

How long have you been movie blogging for, and how frequent do you post updates to your site?
The site was up through October 2009 then crashed and exploded. I was a member of LAMB back then, and it just crashed. I have recently resurrected it and have been trying to build up the reviews, and am constantly trying to get back to my former glories with the site.

Name up to three of your favorite movies (and no more).
Rushmore, SLC Punk, Trainspotting

How did you hear about the LAMB?
I'm a member and writer of Scary Film Blog.

Any additional comments, or give yourself an interview question that's not listed above.
The site was formerly part of the LAMB and is back now with an all new design, format, and more content. I'm hoping to reconnect the pieces to the LAMB and others. I'm a fan of film, tend to have strong opinions, and think a lot of major film sucks...then again, I'm an idiot.
