Hello,

This is Blake from Bitchin’ Film Reviews. I’ve got documentary that the filmmakers would like reviewed. I figured George Lucas’s name would be enough to draw a few interested folks. If I forgot any info, just let me know.

PLUG: Awesome documentary with George Lucas, Richard Gere and the Dalai Lama

Project Happiness is a documentary about, well, happiness. With the unspoken epidemic of stress and depression infiltrating every community, how can kids (of all ages) learn to generate their own happiness regardless of the situations they face? Follow three groups of high school students from three continents on a quest to understand the nature of lasting happiness. What they discover uncovers the potential for happiness that is in us all. Along the way, they seek the advice from the likes of George Lucas, Richard Gere, and the Dalai Lama. You can catch the trailer below.

If you’d like to review the film, contact Brian Rush at brian@projecthappiness.com, and he’ll point you to a download.

Got a Press Release, something to Plug, or a Screener available for review (or some combination of the three)? Ok, don’t get all crazy about it. Just click here and give me the details (what, when, where, and a link, for starters) - I’ll handle the rest.

LAMBcast #54: Top 5 Most Anticipated for 2011

Jason, James, Nick, Stevee and Dylan get together to discuss their Top 5 Most Anticipated films for 2011. Like I say, I know we’re a month into the new year, but does January really count? Also, we premiere the brand-spanking new segment transitions - don’t worry, it’s way more interesting than that sounds.

PLUG: The Movie Blogger Survey

Film lovers,

Many of your fellow bloggers have already promoted the “Movie Blogger Survey” by adding a dedicated post on their blogs and will be receiving their free DVD very shortly.

Surprisingly enough, the film most bloggers have chosen from our DVD selection is Federico Fellini’s classic ‘La Dolce Vita’ with Christopher Nolan’s ‘Inception’ close behind in second place. (full selection on our site)

Fandango Groovers & Bitchin Film Reviews are battling it out for the highest follower participation at the moment and are off to a good start to win the Samsung BD-C5500 Blu-ray Player.

But “it ain’t over until the fat lady sings” and you still have plenty of time to participate!

So, if you would also like to receive your free DVD and a chance to win the Blu-ray Player by simply writing about the survey, visit our page for all the info you need: The Movie Blogger Survey.

We hope to hear from you very soon.

“Viva le Cinema!”

Brutally Blunt Blog Blustering #11: Bitchin’ Film Reviews

It’s Blusterin’ Time!

And remembering: Blustering should be a two-way street; if you’ve asked to be blustered, you better be a blusterer.

If you’re new to this feature or need a refresher, click the label at the bottom of this post and see the first few posts. Otherwise, here’s the basics:

What I’ll do is list a site; you’re asked to critique it. But here’s the catch: to induce the most honest reactions, don’t leave the comment using your normal alias/login - instead, go anonymous, and be as brutally honest (or complimentary) as you wish to be. Also, be specific, and naturally, don’t be rude. If I deem anything inappropriate, I’ll have no problem deleting the comment.

So, go to the site listed below, familiarize yourself with it for a few minutes, then come back and leave some constructive criticism and/or comments that you have.

If you’re up for this treatment for your site (and you’re a LAMB), send me an email with the subject “Bluster Me!” If you’ve already done so, no need to do it again - you’re on the list, and these will be going up in order of when I received your email.

Site Name: Bitchin Film Reviews

Categories: Reviews, Independent Film

Rating: PG-13 (Occasional lewd references)

What is the main focus of your site (reviews, editorials, news, lists, etc.)?
Mainly I simply review films and give them a rating. I tend to focus on Independent films, but I also review the bigger blockbusters (i.e. The Hulk, Wanted). During Oscar season, I’ll be heavily reviewing and discussing the major Oscar contenders.

What are your blogging goals, personally and/or professionally? In other words, what, if anything, are you trying to get out your blog?
My blogging goals consist of the following: becoming a skilled film reviewer, and generating enough of a following online to become a member of a Critics’ Association.

Do you prefer an interactive ‘community’ for your blog or are you the teacher and your readers are the students?
By no means do I know everything about blogging or reviewing. I would very much appreciate feedback and interaction from other bloggers. I will occasionally be offering giveaways for readers’ participation.

How long have you been movie blogging for, and how frequent do you post updates to your site?
I’ve been blogging for about 6 months, but focusing specifically on film only for a month and half or so.

Name up to three of your favorite movies (and no more).
The 25th Hour, Magnolia, Lost in Translation.

How did you hear about the LAMB?
I saw a link to LAMB on the blog site www.therubmoviereviews.blogspot.com

Any additional comments, or give yourself an interview question that’s not listed above.
