LAMB #419 - Ciné Critique Américain

URL: http://cinecritiqueamericain.blogspot.com/
Site Name: Ciné Critique Américain
Categories: Reviews (and sometimes, a rant)
Rating: PG-13. I don’t use vulgarities in my reviews (real life is a wildly different matter!) but all the subject materials may not be suitable for all
audiences.

What is the main focus of your site?
Movie reviews and a rare, occasional rant when I feel the need.

What are your blogging goals, personally and/or professionally? In other words, what, if anything, are you trying to get out your blog?
I have no professional blogging goals, of course, if someone wants to pay me for this, I’ll gladly take their money.

Personally, I watch a lot of movies and I usually have strong opinions about them. This blog gives me a way to express them and, hopefully, start some discussion.

Do you prefer an interactive community for your blog or are you the teacher and your readers the students?
I would love a lively discussion on every movie I review. I don’t close posts to comments, although I do moderate posts to prevent spam. I will never moderate for differing opinions, no matter how wrong I know someone is. :)

How long have you been movie blogging for, and how frequent do you post updates to your site?
I have only been blogging for the prerequisite three months, but I rarely go a week without watching at least one movie in a theater and one at home, and I’ll post a review for every movie I see. (Or, I’ll post at least once or twice a week, usually more.)

Name up to three of your favorite movies (and no more).
Casablanca, The Big Chill, Pan’s Labyrinth.

How did you hear about the LAMB?
Google!

Any additional comments, or give yourself an interview question that’s not listed above.
I use two ratings when I rate a movie. I give movies a numerical rating, 1-10, 1 being the worst and 10 being the best, but I also give each movie a positive, neutral, or negative review. I hope that this add some depth to my ratings system by allowing me to like a movie (positive) yet still give it a low rating for other reasons or to be indifferent towards a movie (neutral), or just plain not like it (negative), and still recognize that it excels for other reasons. (If that makes any sense.)

I realize that my blog isn’t much when it comes to style. I’m hoping that the content makes up for that.
