Hey you!

See that new banner off to your left? Wondering what March Madness has to do with the LAMB?

You’re not? Well, why not - you should be!

Anyway, if you are, you can find out right now - a whole 2-3 days before most anyone else! All you gots to do is become a member of the LAMB Forums. I don’t know if you’re aware of this or not, but the LAMB has its very own message board. Of course you do - many of you were members of version 1; well, the LAMB Forums had to up and move, and they want you.

You know what else? It’s the shiznit. Really, three people have told me exactly that, though it’s possible that one or two of them were just sneezing. The LAMB Forums are the place to go to post your LAMBScores, find out in advance about upcoming LAMB events (and give suggestions for new ones and/or to make the existing ones better), and talk about anything from LOST to books to general blogging tips to your favorite sexual position. Ok, that last one isn’t discussed, but I knew it would get your attention.

So what are you waiting for - join us (heck, signing up is even simpler than it was before):

ANNOUNCEMENT: The LAMB Forums

To all those that have emailed asking me about the status of the LAMB Forum, I want to thank you. I apologize for the inconvenience, but have hopefully remedied it for good. Like the Arizona Cardinals themselves, the LAMB Forums have risen like a Phoenix and have been re-born.

You can access the new Forums here.

This unfortunately means that we’re starting from scratch. Regardless of whether or not you had a login previously, you will need to sign up for the new site. All conversations are gone, though I should be able to retrieve all LAMBScores that were previously posted when the old Forums site comes back online.

But there’s plenty of good news, too. The new Forums site has a live chat option, for starters. Also, because the security is (apparently) tighter, I’m lifting the restriction that caused me to approve every new account. Once you create an account, you should be able to start posting. (This also means fewer spam accounts for me to have to delete, which ought to be a big burden lifted off my shoulders.) The rest should be generally the same - so head on over, sign up, and get to posting!

As a point of order, I would like to thank Jed of the Movie Fanatic for hosting the LAMB Forums up to this point. It was a gracious, unsolicited offer and one that we’ve taken full advantage of, and I think the Forums have been a welcome complement to the LAMB site. Additionally, I’d like to thank General Disdain of The Critical Critics for offering to host the forums on his site, too; though I decided to take the forums “off-site” (so to speak), I really appreciate the gesture.

Any questions, comments, or issues - let me know.

P.S. - For the mean time, the link to both the old and new Forums remains in the left sidebar.

LAMB Forum

FYI: I am aware that the LAMB Forum is currently down. I have a ticket in (so to speak) with the owner of the site it’s hosted on (the Movie Fanatic) to get an ETA. I’ll let you more as I know more.

Thanks.

New Event: The LAMB Interview Feature

In order to promote ourselves and each other and focus on balancing LAMBs within the system, I proposed a new interview feature for the LAMB. The idea behind it is for one LAMB to interview a fellow LAMB who’s blog they enjoy or admire and for the results to be shared with everyone. After all, who better to interview a blogging fanboy/girl than another of our ilk?

This would be a monthly feature hopefully, perhaps more often depending on the level of interest. Interviewers and interviewees will be paired off as long as both LAMBs are willing to participate. I will coordinate all interviews to try to make things as easy and LAMB-friendly as possible.

If you’re interested please e-mail me at bigmikemdz@gmail.com. I am looking for people who would like to interview another LAMB, who you would like to see interviewed and any other comments or suggestion you might like to see in this feature. I know there are more than a few LAMBs that I would really like to have a good one-on-one with and if I am a complete failure and nobody wants to participate, I will valiantly carry this feature to the finish line or die trying. Remember, as a wise man once said, “Ask not what the LAMB can do for you, ask what you can do for the LAMB.”

I will be creating a thread in the LAMB Forum for any feedback and with a few other details on it. And if you read the Forum regularly and have checked Fletch’s last update, there is a rather corny name for this feature that will be kept under wraps under the first interview is published.

Thanks for reading!

FYI

The LAMB Forum (and the main site that it is hosted on, the Movie Fanatic) is back online.

Oh, and Caesars is open for business, too.
