PLUG: Floating Red Couch

Hello LAMB-ie-Doodles,

Uncle Ruben sends an Invite from the Floating Red Couch (http://www.floatingredcouch.com/) to join him in his Battle of the Fatheads – a Grudge Match between Leonardo DiCaprio and William Holden. Ten nights ‘tween 4/17-26 devoted to the two great actors trying to determine once and for all who has the greatest, fattest head of them all.

Announcement here.

Wanna Play? Just send me a mail at rubenr3 [at] gmail dot com and we can figure out what you can do. I’m accepting reviews, actor profiles, character profiles, art, stills, quotes, and all other sorts of dumb stuff.

Wanna watch? Just keep checking into the couch to see how the whole damn thing unfolds. See you there!

Got a Press Release, something to Plug, or a Screener available for review (or some combination of the three)? Ok, don’t get all crazy about it. Just click here and give me the details (what, when, where, and a link, for starters) - I’ll handle the rest.

PLUG: Floating Red Couch

Hello LAMB,

My Floating Red Couch has not disappeared, it’s just been in storage under a sheet waiting for the next great film series.

It’s open once again and playing host to:

The Battle of the Fatheads — a Battle Royale between William Holden and Leonardo DiCaprio between April 17 and 26th.

The link will lead you to a posting with the schedule of movies, I invite and encourage anyone to participate with materials even somewhat relevant — a posting on the movies, the actors, other movies that the actors have done, artwork, photography, little weird videos, and let’s work sound in there too, why not?

Whatever, the Couch is available for all butts no matter how big or strange.

If you want to participate, email rubenr3 [at] gmail dot com and we’ll hash out the details.

Thanks
Ruben

PLUG: The Floating Red Couch

The Floating Red Couch will be hosting The 1st Annual Bronko Nagurski Memorial Football Flick Fest (aka BronkNag #1) whereby the beginning of the pigskin season will be ushered in by ten days of football movies from August 25th-September 3rd.

Any and all bloggers are welcome to join in with either essays on football, or football in film, essays on the films featured (the link above lists our 10 Flix Picks), essays on any other football film, or anything else that may be the slightest bit relevant.

Please email FRC Ruben at rubenr3 [at] gmail [dot] com if you’d like to participate or if you have any questions. I will take links, posts in html, previous stuff, current stuff, anything so long as there’s a picture of a football helmet.

PLUG: My Floating Red Couch

Hello LAMB,

I am currently doing a film fest which pits sexagenarian hotties Helen Mirren and Blythe Danner against one another in a no holds barred Grudge Match. (Here’s the link.).

Anyone with anything even halfway relevant to the movies I’m doing or the actresses is more than welcome to send along a blog-type link to rubenromero55@att.net and I shall include it in upcoming posts.

The series started Friday the 16th and runs through until Sunday the 25th. I will do separate posts with links from other bloggers and anyone that wants to follow my schedule is welcomed and encouraged to.

Thanks,
Ruben

Site Name: My Floating Red Couch
Categories: Reviews, General, Editorials, Humor, Personal Film Festivals
Rating: R

What is the main focus of your site?
The Floating Red Couch is a place of cinematic pontification (B.S. about movies). Periodically, I will watch films series or marathons or some sort of mission in order to keep myself amused and hopefully keep the readers engaged.

What are your blogging goals, personally and/or professionally? In other words, what, if anything, are you trying to get out your blog?
I’d like to get a decent readership, maybe make a little money on the side, or parlay this into some sort of career.

Do you prefer an interactive community for your blog or are you the teacher and your readers the students?
Interactive.

How long have you been movie blogging for, and how frequent do you post updates to your site?
I update almost daily. I blogged for about a year on Myspace, but that pretty much fell off when everyone abandoned Myspace (myself included).

Name up to three of your favorite movies (and no more).
Requiem for a Dream, Bonnie & Clyde, Big Trouble in Little China

How did you hear about the LAMB?
Google.

Any additional comments, or give yourself an interview question that’s not listed above.
I’m always looking for ways to improve my site’s layout or content.
