PRESS RELEASE: Dimensions (A UK Feature)

Hi there,

We are having a screening at the BFI Southbank in London on 11 September. If any bloggers would like to join us, they can email press@dimensionsthemovie.com for all the info. We do have limited space, but we will do our best to get as many seats as we can for film fans. Being an indie film, word of mouth is all we have, so we would really appreciate the support!

Bit about the movie below.

Thanks very much.

Best,
Ant

My wife and I have just finished Dimensions sci-fi/love story, set in the 1920/30s. Sloane (my wife, who has worked on films such as Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Batman Begins, Being John Malkovich) and I realised the only way we could fund the project was to sell our home. The usual response to that varies from ‘inspired’ to ‘insane’.

We have been lucky enough to get support from a huge number of industry colleagues and friends. Although the budget falls into the ‘micro’ category, we think (and hope) you will be very surprised by the quality we have managed to achieve. The cast includes Camilla Rutherford (Gosford Park, Rome, Darjeeling Limited), Henry Lloyd-Hughes (The Inbetweeners, Anonymous, Weekender) and Patrick Godfrey (The Duchess, Remains of the Day, A Room a View).

We have been chosen to premiere at the upcoming Cambridge Film Festival, alongside ‘Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy’, ‘The Help’, ‘Tyrannosaur’ and ‘Midnight in Paris’.

PRESS RELEASE: Killer View (aka Snuffed)

I am writing to introduce you to the film, Killer View (aka Snuffed). Never before have I seen a low budget film done with such an unbelievable sense of professionalism.

This documentary-styled film showcases a journalist given the rare opportunity to interview a serial killer not in captivity. Filmed to keep the killer’s identity anonymous, the journalist explores every facet of the self-proclaimed “professional’s” psyche. Spliced throughout the dialogue between the two are scenes from one of the terrifying snuff films created by the killer himself, perfectly elaborating on his brilliantly written responses throughout the interview.

This is an incredibly realistic portrayal of a serial killer. He is not some glamorized, outwardly psychotic figure, but rather a seemingly logical, careful individual who is so composed that you begin to rationalize, almost approve, his heinous acts. Rarely do I side with a heel after initially despising him so much. Check out the trailer here:

http://www.fabricationfilms.com/screeners/killer_view.html?type=trailer

Killer View (aka Snuffed) was Directed/Written by Brian O’Connell, Produced by Michael Colton (Founder of Crestwood Films), and Executive Produced by Stephen Nemeth, President of Rhino Films (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, etc.). It premiered at the American Film Institute’s Dallas International Film Festival, where it’s first reviewer called it the “best horror film since the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre.” Top horror site, Arrow In The Head, gave the movie a coveted 4-star rating. Additionally, one of the leading industry magazines, Indie Slate, published an article about Colton’s experiences while producing the film. A North American distribution agreement with Grindstone/Lionsgate Entertainment has recently been secured, with the movie scheduled to be released later this year.

I would love to send you a physical copy of Killer View (aka Snuffed), with the hopes of getting it reviewed on your site. Both you and your readership need to experience the emotional volatility that I did while watching this.

Please send your mailing address to c.r.gesualdi@gmail.com and I will get a screener out to you asap.

Look forward to hearing from you soon,
Christopher Gesualdi

PRESS RELEASE: Dumbstruck

Greetings!

Just want to say that I love your blog! My name is Johnny and I just wanted to inform movie bloggers about an upcoming documentary out this month in select theaters called Dumbstruck! The film revolves around 5 ventriloquists of “vents” and the culture of ventriloquism. The film has received great reviews!

The reason why I’m writing to you about this film is because I am an aspiring ventriloquist myself and would love to show my support by seeing this movie but unfortunately it will not be shown in any city near me (due to the fact that I live on one of the smaller islands in Hawaii). I figure the best way to show my support is to inform other people that would be somewhat interested in the film.

The underlining fact is that it is a movie about ventriloquism…and who besides ventriloquist would really want to see this film? I guess my hope is that people would take a chance and see the movie and learn from it that ventriloquist and ventriloquism isn’t all that creepy, freaky, or weird.

Thank you for your time. If you are interested in the film, check out the link posted below. The film’s facebook page has all kinds of info regarding the cities and dates, trailers, and a current contest where the page is giving away a bird puppet!

PRESS RELEASE: Cool It

Hello,

I wanted to talk to you about a film I’m working called COOL IT. COOL IT is based upon the book of the same name and lectures by Bjorn Lomborg, the controversial author of The Skeptical Environmentalist. Award-winning filmmaker Ondi Timoner travels the world with Lomborg exploring the real facts and true science of global warming and its impact. Lomborg is the founder and director of the Copenhagen Consensus Center, a globally respected think tank that brings together the world’s leading economists to prioritize major global problems — among them malaria, the lack of potable water and HIV/AIDS — based upon a cost/benefit analysis of available solutions. Amidst the strong and polarized opinions within the global warming debate, Cool It follows Lomborg on his mission to bring the smartest solutions to climate change, environmental pollution, and other major problems in the world.

And just as an FYI- Foreign Policy magazine has just named Bjorn one of the 100 Top Global Thinkers of 2010. Last year’s list included people like Ben Bernanke, President Obama, and Gen. David Petraeus, so he is in good company. The 2010 list, which spotlights “remarkable individuals who have shaped the global conversation over the last 12 months—and will continue to do so in coming years,” this was published in the magazine’s December issue.

We have screeners available upon request and the DVD comes out on March 29th in time for Earth Day. Please let me know if you would like to request one for blogging consideration.

Best,
Shelby

PRESS RELEASE: A Most Generous Spirit

To The Lamb,

I am a a part of a team working on this documentary and we would absolutely appreciate if you could promote this film on your blog. Thanks!

Charles Burnett, the talented documentary film director (”Killer of Sheep”) has a new documentary that centers on the late Stanley Ann Dunham, President Barack Obama’s mother. Dunham was not only the mother of the 44th President of the Free World, she was the pioneer of micro-financing. She practiced most of her life’s work in Southeast Asia. Burnett and his production team (Carolyn Schroeder and Greg Ptacek are in the producers seats) are currently in the early developmental stage and raising money on Indieagogo.com so production can begin. This link is to the trailer they have created to help spread the word about the noble Dunham and her upcoming biographical documentary:
