LAMBcast #91: LAMBpardy! #3

The LAMBcast’s version of America’s Favorite Game Show (or is that Wheel of Fortune? Price is Right?) is back!

Kai lost last time, but was kind enough to return as host of the game so that I might play. I squared off against Dan Heaton and the reigning champ Rachel. Hats off to Kai for coming up with questions (er, answers…whatever) that were not too hard and too not easy (the main complaint from the previous entries being that the board was too difficult). And whaddaya know - we even got through it while remembering to phrase our answers in the form of a question. So who won? You’ll just have to listen to find out.

And yes, just so you know, LAMBpardy episopdes will be a semi-regular feature of the LAMBcast (at least in the short-term), so keep an eye out over at the Forums, as demand to be a contestant is high, and there’s a max of three contestants per show (and one of them is the returning champ).

Music provided royalty-free by Kevin MacLeod’s Incompetech website. Big thanks to Kevin for providing this service. The LAMBcast loves feedback, too. Either here in the comments section or to dylan@manilovefilms.com or to our Facebook page. Also, we’re on iTunes, and would still love a review, even if it’s a bad one.

LAMBcast #89: Roll Your Own Top 5

Obscure zombies, memorable births, embarrassing theatrical trips, and standalone superheroes…in other words, it was high time for another Roll Your Own Top 5 episode, and I must say, the LAMBcasters came through with another batch of interesting lists. On hand for the shenanigans this time around were Dylan, Nick, Dan Heaton and Fredo.

LAMBcast #83: David Cronenberg

In honor of the recent Director’s Chair blog-a-thon celebrating his catalog, the latest LAMBcast takes a look at the work of David Cronenberg, film by film. First-time host James walked Joel, Dan Heaton and first-time LAMBcaster Alan through the eccentric Canadian’s film, and it might surprise you to learn which is the group’s collective favorite. (I’d say “be gentle” to James, but he did a pretty great job his first time out.)

LAMBcast #79: 5-on-5

Boy, oh boy, that sure is one smashingly sexy pic of Daniel Craig, ain’t it? Wondering why I chose it as the featured image for this episode? Well, all will be revealed in time. For #79, Nick tries out a new spin on an old fave, namely with a feature discussion segment he deemed as 5-on-5 (and if you think that sounds gay, what with five gents being involved in the recording of the show…just wait till it starts!). Anyway, he was joined by Dylan, Sebastian, Dan H. and Dan H. See how we deal with that little issue as well by listening. A (long but) fun show!

LAMB #1005 - Public Transportation Snob

URL: http://publictransportationsnob.blogspot.com/
Site Name: Public Transportation Snob
Categories: Reviews, General, Editorials, Horror, Classic Film, Lists
Rating: PG-13

What is the main focus of your site?
I tackle marathons each month on a specific genre, actor, or other original topic with movies I’ve never seen before and review them. Examples thus far include cult films, movies about politics, and crazy Nicolas Cage performances. I also write related articles that cover broader issues about the topic and include top five lists. Along with these regular posts, I review special local screenings and plan to cover film festivals in the future.

What are your blogging goals, personally and/or professionally? In other words, what, if anything, are you trying to get out your blog?
I’m hoping to fill the gaping holes in my movie knowledge by focusing on topics that interest me. I’ve contributed to a variety of film sites over the years, and I’m enjoying the chance to write in this open format.

Do you prefer an interactive community for your blog or are you the teacher and your readers the students?
I definitely want an interactive community. I started the blog as a personal project, but communicating with readers and hearing their opinions makes it a lot more fun.

How long have you been movie blogging for, and how frequent do you post updates to your site?
I started the site three months ago on March 1st, and I typically post three times a week.

Name up to three of your favorite movies (and no more).
Almost Famous
His Girl Friday
Metropolitan
(I took my blog’s title from a classic quote from this Whit Stillman movie)

How did you hear about the LAMB?
I discovered the LAMB through some member blogs I regularly check out like Anomalous Material and The Reelists.

Any additional comments, or give yourself an interview question that’s not listed above.
