What is the main focus of your site?
Offering hi-res VHS box art scans from my personal collection, often times along with film clips, trailers, or other title-specific videos uploaded by me that visitors may not have seen anywhere else. Special focus is paid to genre films which have featured Playboy Playmates or Penthouse Pets in the cast via high quality images from their published and unpublished pictorials.
What are your blogging goals, personally and/or professionally? In other words, what, if anything, are you trying to get out your blog?
I would like for The Scandy Factory to be seen as an internationally premium depot for hard-to-find VHS art scans. Also, I want to show a formidable knack for writing tight, encapsulating reviews with only a few sentences for any potential reviewing or copy writing gigs.
Do you prefer an interactive community for your blog or are you the teacher and your readers are the students?
I much prefer an interactive community. I have no desire to a teacher of any sorts, and I tend to steer away from blogs that take this approach (unless it’s something singularly specific I want to know, like how to remove my car’s transmission). And I don’t regard those who read my blog as “my readers”, but as visitors. I’m fortunate to have folks interested enough to make return trips, I think.
How long have you been movie blogging for, and how frequent do you post updates to your site?
I started my blog in May 2008 and I average around 35 - 40 updates per month.
